It is the oldest museum in Rajasthan and showcases an extensive collection of artifacts, including ancient manuscripts, sculptures, paintings, and textiles. The museum, designed by Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob, was opened to the public in 1887. The building is situated in Ram Niwas garden outside the city wall opposite New gate and is a fine example of Indo-Saracenic architecture. The museum was named after the Prince of Wales, Albert Edward who laid its foundation during his visit to India. One of the most notable exhibits is the Egyptian Mummy, a unique attraction for visitors. The building itself is an architectural marvel, adorned with intricate carvings and arches that reflect the grandeur of the era.
